Social Impact – Making a difference in your community

What is social impact? Social impact* can be defined as the net effect of an activity on a community and the well-being of individuals and families; in other words, the difference you make on your community and its people.

Many organisations provide support and services for people experiencing serious illness, dying, death and grief, yet few share the impact of these supports and services. The Connecting End of life Care – Townsville project team aims to link organisations providing services and support to valuable websites with resources and information about social impact and to encourage organisations to collect and share information, data and stories related to social impact in the area of palliative care.

A fact sheet, “Social Impact for the Townsville Area – caring for someone who is experiencing serious illness, dying, death and grief”, was developed by Palliative Care Queensland to support local organisations to make change matter.
