Ambulance Wish Queensland made a last wish come true today, creating forever memories for Sayuri and her beloved husband Mike. Sayuri’s wish was to visit Wellington Point, a place that had become special to both of them and had seen them share their love of each other and their passion for food over the last decade.[/vc_column_text]
In 2012, Sayuri and Mike first met, and it was love at first sight, and a whirlwind romance saw Mike propose at Cleveland Point the same year before marrying in 2015. Although living closer to Brisbane city, the couple took every opportunity to head to the Bayside and to spend time with each other and enjoyed their time at Wellington Point.
It was a privilege of the Ambulance Wish Queensland to transport Sayuri from care at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane, to Wellington Point. They were greeted by friends from their local church who had saved a table right at the water’s edge. They were also accompanied by a pastor from their local church who had known Michael for over 20 years. Sayuri, Mike and their friends enjoyed lunch by the water in a place that mattered so much to both of them.
The most special moment of the day was when they held a green tea ceremony whilst singing a beautiful Japanese hymn. The day was also made perfect with a table set beautifully with sushi bento box, homemade cheesecake, takeaway meal from Sayuri’s favourite restaurant – Tanjas and a beautiful bunch of flowers.
Ambulance Wish Queensland would like to thank our partners for this wish, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane, Queensland Health, Queensland Ambulance Service, and our amazing wish team of Sue, Alicea, Chloe, Katherine, Jason, Lauren and Annette.
