A visit home to spend some time with a much-loved pet helped Ambulance Wish Queensland to create forever memories for Amy and her family. Growing up on ten acres, Amy was always surrounded by animals, and for her tenth birthday, she had one wish for a pet. But unlike many children, Amy was not captivated by cats, didn’t dote on dogs, never pursued a pony, she was moved by cows, and for her birthday, her wish came true. For Amy, the years have not diminished her love of cows, with cow Bella and their beautiful dog Penny a central part of her and fiancé Neil’s life.
Thanks to Ambulance Wish Queensland, Amy was able to visit her home in the Gold Coast hinterland to spend time with her family, wonderful pets and to see a beautiful laser cut screen, the latest project that she and partner Neil completed in their home.
Surrounded by fiancé Neil, sister Sarah and her partner Marty and their three children, brother Levi and his partner Bronte and their two children, mum Patty and Dad Shane, Neil’s parents Heather and Albert and Neil’s brother Brett and partner Erinn, it was clear to see just how much it meant to Amy to spend time with her loved ones and pets.
We want to thank our Ambulance Wish Queensland volunteer team of Sue, Kristy, Richard, Jason and Ange for their time, care and support in delivering our latest wish.
We would also like to thank our partners for this special day, Gold Coast Health, Robina Hospital, Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Health.
