The Story of Ascend Continues Through an Exclusive Print Release

At this year’s Ambulance Wish Queensland Gala, guests watched artist Josh Wright bring a remarkable piece of art to life. 

Created live during the evening, Ascend captured the spirit of Ambulance Wish Queensland and the moments that matter most to the people we serve. The original artwork was later raffled on the night, but its story does not end there. 

The inspiration for Ascend is deeply personal. Josh drew on the strength of his two sisters and his terminally ill father, whose love, resilience and unwavering belief in possibility helped shape the heart of the piece. 

In the painting, two girls run toward the horizon, symbolising the freedom to look beyond life’s circumstances and continue reaching for something more. Through Ascend, Josh wanted to offer encouragement to children, families and anyone facing difficult challenges, inviting them to focus on what lies ahead and embrace the beauty that remains in every stage of life. 

Following the Gala, Josh chose to extend his support for Ambulance Wish Queensland in an extraordinary way. He produced an exclusive series of only 10 prints of Ascend and generously donated them to the charity. 

With just 10 prints available, this is a rare opportunity to own a piece connected to a special moment in Ambulance Wish Queensland’s history.  

Importantly, every purchase helps support future wishes. From each print sold, $100 will be donated directly to the Ambulance Wish Queensland program, helping more Queenslanders living with a life-limiting illness experience a last wish with the people they love.
