Spiritual care is an essential domain of palliative care, which focuses on the holistic spiritual needs of the whole person and their family.
Spirituality encompasses the individual’s search for meaning and purpose in life and the experience of the transcendent. For some people spirituality can be largely faith-based, for others it may be their relationship with nature or the profound connections they have with other people.
In this special week, we are delighted to launch a new initiative and support for our sector. We are also excited to announce a formal partnership with Meaningful Ageing Australia and Spiritual Health Association which endeavours to create a state-wide map of spiritual care in palliative care. A report will be launched in the first half of 2021. Watch this space!
