Assistant Health Minister Opens New Palliative Care Queensland Office and Community Hub

Palliative Care Queensland welcomed Assistant Health Minister and Member for Pine Rivers, Ms Nikki Boyd, to the opening of their new office and ‘Village Green’ community space in Spring Hill, Brisbane. Located on Leichardt Street, the new facility provides office space, training facilities and a community hub to support Ambulance Wish Queensland, groups, individuals, organisations and health professionals involved in palliative care.

CEO Shyla Mills thanked the Assistant Minister and Health Minister Dr Steven Miles, for their ongoing support and outlined the role the new facility will play in Palliative Care Queensland’s work. “Our new facility is part of our strategy to ensure that our community of care has access to resources and networks of support. It is not just an office for our team; it is a centre for training volunteers for programs such as Ambulance Wish Queensland and holding community meetings, which can be booked by local groups in need a place to meet and hold events.”
