On World Compassionate Communities Day, PCQ encourages everyone to promote the understanding of Compassionate Communities and to seek out opportunities to support those who are lonely, those with a life-limiting illness, those that are grieving or those that are caregiving.
Visiting Ipswich Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Ipswich Community Palliative Care Team and Ipswich Hospice, we spoke about what Palliative Care Queensland, and it’s signature program Ambulance Wish Queensland, are able to achieve in a compassionate community. We listened to key issues they raised around advocacy purposes and we distributed resources and information to each of these services. We hope that this will help their team on the path to extending compassionate communities throughout Ipswich.
We also celebrate the work of our volunteers of Ambulance Wish Queensland and Palliative Care Queensland Inc. Your support of those within the palliative care sector is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to your belief in compassion and care. Thank you!
World Compassionate Communities Day aims to build on the momentum of the growing number of Compassionate Communities projects and programs, highlight the work of members and member organizations around the globe, and continue to mobilise and connect people through local compassionate actions related to dying, and death, caregiving and grief.
