Palliative Care Queensland

As an applied philosopher, author and educator for over 50 years, Professor Thomas Attig has been a pioneering voice in rehumanising the study and support of grieving and bereaved individuals. In his books and teaching Tom has sought to value perspectives from across the vast library of human experience, helping to expand professional understandings and approaches to grief care.

In this episode Tom reflects on many years of walking alongside grieving people and training clinicians. We discuss some of the practical and applicable ideas that Tom has brought to the field of professional grief support – including how sorrow friendly practices can support bereaved community members who are faced with the challenge of relearning the world in grief.
