Brisbane Community Expo: Good Life, Good Death Expo

No Taboos: Embracing all of life

27-28 October 2017, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

This Good Life, Good Death expo is an initiative of Palliative Care Queensland which aims to remove taboos, normalise dying, reduce people's fears and ensure that no one feels like they are/or will be a burden to others.

This unique community expo will promote wellbeing, planning ahead, positive ageing, being prepared, getting support and techniques for embracing all aspects of life.

It's a family friendly event - we encourage all generations to attend because we believe all age groups make a positive contribution to our lives.

There will be intergenerational face painting and a photo booth to make memories; Storytime for children; intergeneration games and door prizes.

We encourage individuals, families and friends to visit the expo. As well as community groups, retirement and aged care services to bring their clients and members on a bus trip for the day.

There will be something for everyone.

Visitors to the expo will be greeted with a show bag; encouraged to wander around the exhibition booths; grab a coffee or tea in the lounge area; reflect on the art displays; listen to experts share their knowledge and have the opportunity to ask questions; gain a whole new understanding of wellness; and given the space to take a moment and reflect on life, loss and absent friends.

It will be a safe, fun and friendly space to: ask difficult questions; discover how to start tricky conversations; learn how to navigate the aged and health system; and most of all learn how to live every moment while acknowledging that death is simply a part of life.
